Neptunes Pentathlon 2014
The Belugas, represented by the ‘Awesome Foursome’ of Duncan Howard, Wayne Mortensen, Raoul Mulder and Paul Turner enjoyed a wildly successful first foray into the world of competitive Masters swimming, with an incredible 20 club records falling on the night.
The team was in scintillating form, with 20 personal bests set, numerous heat wins, and a number of other firsts (of which Paul Turner’s spectacular forward topple into the water to become the club’s first competitor to break before the start was probably the most entertaining). A full list of results from the meet can be found here.
Howard announced his arrival on the scene with an audacious overall 3rd place in the Men’s 55-59 age category, while there was also plenty of controversy, with a bungle by officials denying Mulder equal 2nd billing in the Men’s 45-49 age category.
